Everything is falling apart
I’ve lost sight of what I am doing here…
I fell off the path of success I was on.
I got so caught up in the success that I had, that I started focusing on the wrong things.
I stopped focusing on myself. I stopped working to become the best version of me that I could be. I got cocky. I thought I had it all figured out. I thought I would just continue on the same path without the same effort. I thought I had already put in the work, and that I didnt have to continue with the same level of effort.
Then everything started to fall apart.
Slowly… but…
I didnt realize until it was almost too late.
December was the best month I have had in my business.
Even though I had slowed down with the progress I was making internally. I stopped reading. Working out had slowed down. I was drinking a little more often. Eating like crap.
But it was the holidays…
It was the first time in my adult life that I didnt work throughout the holiday season. I decided I was going to enjoy it.
And that’s exactly what I did.
And things continued to go well for me.
I celebrated with friends and family. And even though I wasn’t getting much work done in any area, my business continued to grow.
I went on a few trips. I truly relaxed and let loose a little bit for the longest extended period of time in my life.
I figured everything would be fine and I would get back on track eventually.
But then things started to fall apart…
In December I almost tripled my highest monthly income.
But January was about half of my average monthly income. And February isn’t looking to be much better.
Something has to change.
I have to change.
I have to go back to doing the things that got me this far.
I have to get back to becoming the person that deserves the success that I want.
Because right now, I am not that person.
This week I am getting back on track with that. I know it isnt going to happen over night and I need to take incremental steps towards this. But, I cannot allow myself to stay stagnant any longer.
I will not let my business fail.
I have been very fortunate throughout this journey that I have not needed to do much outreach to gain more clients.
But, with the way some things have unfolded, that is exactly the next step.
Outreach…
I need to go out and find clients…
But how am I going to do that?
First, I need to determine the type of client I am looking to work with and the type of service I am looking to offer to them.
To this point, most of my clients have been for my video editing and social media service. The issue is that is just another version of trading my time for money. While I know I will have to continue to do that for quite some time, that is not the end goal.
I am in search of financial freedom and I will never achieve that by trading my time for money.
The skills and experience I have are high value skills. And when leveraged correctly, they can translate into high income.
So I need to find clients that value my skills at a high level. I need to find clients that have an audience. I need to find clients that have something to sell but struggle to sell it to their audience.
I need to find clients that I can leverage my skills into helping them make more money, and in turn makes me more money.
But how…
How will I find these clients?
Outreach…
I need to go out and try to make connections with people.
I need to offer my services to people.
But I need to do it in a unique way that stands out.
So many creators out there are constantly getting spammed by people asking to edit their videos, do graphic design, write emails, help with their website, etc.
I need to be different…
How will I do that?
By not offering to do the work, but by doing the work.
I will put in the work ahead of time.
I will study their content, audience, and offers. I will outline systems of what exactly will work for them specifically. I will write the emails. I will build the funnel outlines. Then I will find their personal email and send them a video of me going over all of this. Then I will share a Google Doc of everything that I did.
I know this sounds crazy and like a lot of work.
Maybe it is.
It is a lot of work for no immediate return.
But that it was what it takes to find quality clients.
It takes quality outreach.
Yes it takes quantity too, but it needs to be quality.
I will not sit here and spam peoples’ DM’s and emails.
I will provide value to people.
Eventually, someone will see that value and want to work with me.
That is how I am going to turn my business around.
That is how I am going to get back on track.
