Contractor Website Design

A website that books jobs, not just one that looks nice.

Most contractor websites are brochures. They sit there looking fine and bring in nothing. I build fast, modern sites designed to do one thing: turn a visitor into a booked call. Built to convert, built to get found, and owned by you from day one.

The real job of your website

A pretty site that nobody finds is a brochure.

Here is the honest truth about most contractor websites, including the expensive ones. They were designed to look good in a portfolio, not to book work. The phone number is hard to find. The site loads slowly on a phone, which is where almost all of your customers are. And it was never set up so Google could rank it, so nobody finds it in the first place. A website has one job for a contractor: take a stranger who is ready to hire and turn them into a call or a quote request. Everything on the page should serve that. When I build a site, I start from that goal and work backward. Fast load, clear calls to action, a layout that makes hiring you the obvious next step, and a foundation that search engines can actually read. It is the difference between a digital business card and a tool that brings you jobs while you are out on the truck.

What a real contractor site does

Built to convert, built to get found.

Every site I build is put together around how homeowners actually search and decide. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Fast and mobile

Loads instantly on a phone

Most of your visitors are on a phone, deciding in seconds. A slow site loses them before they ever see your work. Every build is fast and clean on mobile first.

Converts

Makes hiring you obvious

Clear calls to action, an easy way to call or request a quote, and trust signals up front. The page is designed to move someone from looking to booking.

Gets found

Built to rank locally

Proper page structure, real service and city pages, and a setup that works hand in hand with your Google Business Profile, so the site actually shows up in search.

Yours

You own everything

The site, the domain, and the content are yours from day one. No hostage situations, no starting over if you ever decide to move on.

Coming from a DIY builder?

Outgrew your Wix or GoDaddy site?

A lot of contractors start on a builder like Wix, GoDaddy, or Squarespace because it was quick and cheap, and there is nothing wrong with that at the start. But most of those sites hit a ceiling. They load slow, they are hard to get ranking in Google, and they end up looking like every other template. If your DIY site is not bringing in work, the problem usually is not you, it is that the platform was built for anyone to make a page, not for a contractor to book jobs in a competitive local market. I rebuild sites off those platforms all the time. I move your domain and your content over carefully so nothing breaks and you do not lose the ground you have in search, and you come out with a faster site built to actually get found and convert. If your current site is fine and just needs to work harder, I can often improve what you have instead of starting over. Either way, we figure out the right move on a call, not with a one-size-fits-all package.

Who you are actually hiring

Not a template mill, not a call-center agency.

The usual options

  • A cheap template that looks like every other contractor site
  • An agency that builds it, then holds your site and domain hostage
  • Pretty design with no plan to actually get you found
  • A call center that has never set foot in your market

Working with me

  • A custom site built around booking your jobs, not a portfolio
  • You own the site, the domain, and the content from day one
  • Built on a foundation made to rank, not just to look good
  • One real person you can call, who scopes the project to your business

Website design questions

Straight answers.

What makes a contractor website actually book jobs?

It loads fast, works perfectly on a phone, makes it obvious how to call or request a quote, and is built so Google can rank it locally. Most contractor sites fail on at least one of these. They look fine but bury the phone number, load slowly, or were never set up to be found. I build the site around one goal, turning a visitor into a booked call, and everything else serves that.

Do I own my website, or do you keep it?

You own it. The website, the domain, and the content are yours from day one. That is a hard line for me, because plenty of agencies build you a site and then hold it hostage so you can never leave. I do the opposite. You own the asset, and if you ever want to walk, you take everything with you.

Can you redesign or replace my existing website?

Yes, and that is a lot of what I do. Many contractors come to me from a builder like Wix or GoDaddy, or an old site that looks dated and does not bring in work. I rebuild it as a fast, modern site designed to convert and to rank, and I handle moving your domain and content over so nothing breaks and you do not lose your place in Google.

How long does a contractor website take to build?

A focused build usually comes together in a couple of weeks once I have your information, photos, and services. Larger sites with many service and city pages take longer. The timeline depends on scope, and I scope every project individually rather than forcing everyone into the same box, so we agree on what you are getting before anything starts.

Will the website help me get found on Google?

That is the whole point. A pretty site that no one finds is a brochure. I build every site on a foundation search engines can read, with the page structure, speed, and local setup that let it rank for the services and towns you work in. The site and your Google Business Profile are built to work together, so your online presence pulls in the same direction.
